Elections to each of the 22 local councils in Wales will take place on 5th May 2022. Local elections only happen every five years in Wales, and the Green Party are campaigning hard to make sure Greens are elected so they can put our principles of social and environmental justice into action.

Local councils are responsible for education, housing, social services, highways and transport, waste and recycling, leisure and cultural services, consumer protection, environmental health, economic development, planning and emergency preparedness.

Elected Greens can ensure that vulnerable people get the services they need while protecting nature and our climate.

We now have 463 hard-working councillors elected across 165 local authorities in England and Wales. That number will grow this May with several breakthroughs forecast across Wales.
