STATEMENT ON VIOLENCE IN PALESTINE

Wales Green Party condemn the police storming of Al-Aqsa mosque in occupied Jerusalem and military strikes by the Israeli authorities on Gaza. Although abhorrent at any time, these latest attacks are  particularly disturbing coming in the holy month of Ramadan.

Anthony Slaughter, leader of Wales Green Party said "International law being so fragrantly broken is unacceptable and we call in the strongest terms for the UK to impose overdue sanctions on the Israeli government in light of the systematic human rights abuses being inflicted on the people of Palestine.

We also call on the First Minister to condemn the actions of the Israeli government on behalf of the nation of Wales, as well as use his influence to join the call for Dominic Raab to do the same."

Lauren James, deputy leader of Wales Green Party said "Everyone has the right to a safe place to live and pray, without the threat of violence and displacement.

As an international community we must stand with the Palestinian people, and demand peace across the region."
